Terms & Conditions

Effective date: February 25, 2026

1. Overview

DeenGuide (“the Service”) is a free, non-commercial Islamic knowledge companion available as a web application and an iOS/Android mobile app. It is provided entirely as Sadaqah Jaariyah (ongoing charity) for the benefit of the Muslim community. We do not charge fees, display advertisements, or generate revenue of any kind.

The Service includes AI-powered Islamic Q&A, Quran reading, Hadith search, daily prayer times with notifications, Qibla compass, and home-screen widgets.

By accessing or using DeenGuide, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please discontinue use of the Service immediately.

2. Nature of the Service

The web app uses Google Gemini AI to generate answers to user questions about Islam. Responses are supplemented with Quran verses and Hadith references retrieved from a Supabase database.

The mobile app additionally provides: Quran reading with audio recitation, Hadith search, daily prayer times (via Aladhan API or East London Mosque timetable), push notifications for prayer times, a Qibla compass, and home-screen widgets. Location access is used solely to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction; it is not stored on any server.

The Service is designed to be an educational aid and a starting point for Islamic learning. It is not a fatwa service and does not replace the guidance of qualified Islamic scholars, muftis, or teachers. Users should always cross-reference answers with authentic scholarly sources before acting upon them.

3. Disclaimer of Accuracy

While we make every effort to ground responses in the Quran and authentic Hadith collections, AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, misinterpretations, or incomplete information. DeenGuide provides content on an “as-is” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

We do not guarantee the correctness, completeness, or reliability of any answer. The user assumes full responsibility for how they interpret and act upon the information provided.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, DeenGuide and its contributors shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated content.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use DeenGuide only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with Islamic ethics. You shall not:

  • Use the Service to generate or spread misinformation.
  • Attempt to manipulate, exploit, or reverse-engineer the AI system.
  • Submit content that is abusive, hateful, or deliberately offensive.
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose without prior written consent.

6. Third-Party Services

DeenGuide relies on the following third-party services to operate:

  • Google Gemini AI — processes user questions and generates responses (web app). Subject to Google's Terms of Service.
  • Supabase — hosts the database containing Quran verses, Hadith references, quotes, quiz data, and prayer times. Subject to Supabase's Terms of Service.
  • Aladhan API — provides prayer time calculations for the mobile app based on your location. Subject to Aladhan's Terms of Service.

We are not responsible for the practices, policies, or availability of these third-party providers.

7. Intellectual Property

Quranic text and Hadith are part of the shared Islamic heritage and are not claimed as proprietary content. The DeenGuide application code, design, and branding are the property of their respective contributors.

8. Modifications to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

May Allah accept this as Sadaqah Jaariyah and benefit the Ummah.
